Course Overview

Our third course is focused on techniques to enhance your data storytelling and visualization. We will help you decipher chart choosing, designing eye captivating data points, and creating meaningful recommendations based on findings.

This course is available to all current and past grant partners with the Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyles team at the Health Fund. Follow the "Enroll Here" button to get access to the course. The link will take you to a form. Once completed, we will get you enrolled!

1. Virtual Workshops

In April 2023, we will host a virtual workshop that complements this course (offered twice!). In the workshop, we will work together to apply lessons learned from this course to your day-to-day work. The workshop will focus on helping you build a one pager based on your data.

Your Instructors


Martena Reed

Martena Reed (she/her) is a die-hard Midwestern native with a deep love for Baltimore City where she currently resides. Martena is an evaluator with expertise in implementation, participatory, and systems change evaluation. Ms. Reed has experience applying equitable evaluation principles to research and evaluation, engaging community stakeholders and funders in research and evaluation, and building consensus across diverse groups. Reed has a Master of Social Work with a focus in policy analysis and program evaluation from the University of Michigan.

Fanta Drame

Fanta Drame (she/her) is a New Yorker, born and raised in Harlem, with Malian roots. Fanta has a keen skill in utilizing storytelling techniques to make data digestible and effective with engaging visuals. She has worked across community, state, and federal programs to apply effective evaluation frameworks to turn research and insights into practical, culturally responsive solutions. Ms. Drame enjoys working with public health programs and nonprofits to enhance public health messaging materials and techniques to improve health outcomes. Fanta is currently completing her Master of Public Health at Emory University, focusing on global sexual reproductive health. 



Jenny Nulty

Jenny Nulty (she/her) is small town Iowan at heart and is a new Chicago resident! Jenny is the Founder of Pivot Data Design. In this capacity, Jenny provides strategic direction and thought partnership for a portfolio of data design and evaluation capacity building projects within the philanthropic and nonprofit sectors. She is a data storyteller and helps organizations communicate their data to inform strategic decision making. Jenny has a Master of Social Work with a focus in policy analysis and program evaluation from the University of Michigan.

The course starts now and never ends! It is a completely self-paced online course - you decide when you start and when you finish.


How long do I have access to the course?

You will have access to the course until May 30, 2023. 


How to prepare for the course? 

Nothing needed, come as you are! We are gearing this course towards people/organizations at all levels in the evaluation learning journey.
